heaven freezing over

Why is it that we only ever hear about Hell freezing over? Wouldn't it be just as unlikely for Heaven to freeze over?

Relative Weather?

I was watching the weather channel today. Turns out even humidity is relative.

What does this mean?

If I'm out at the park with my friend and he says, "seems rather humid today," can I tell him he's wrong and we'll both be right?

Winter

It's winter here and it's cold. Today is not supposed to get above freezing. So I've got some ice related deep thoughts.

Ice is cool but falling on it isn't.

Blowing out the seam of your pants while falling on ice is even less cool.

Getting up and running away crying after blowing out the seam of your pants while falling on ice is about the least cool thing you could possibly do.

You have no chance of ever being considered cool if you tell everyone that your mommy made you feel better after all that by baking you cookies while you took a bath.

You were never cool if this all happened when you were 23.

Voting

I went and voted yesterday.

Voting is a bit weird.

My guy won. I'm very excited about that.

Elections, for me, are more a time to judge how normal I am. I find that I'm more excited that I fit in and vote with the majority, then that the guy I wanted to be in power is in power.

Election day is about the only time I can ever feel normal.

I feel sorry for the losers who like people that, obviously, the rest of us don't.

cool t-shirts

If Jesus had the optioin of desigining his own t-shirts, do you think that he would have worn a "John is my Homeboy" shirt.

A warning For the Chicken Soup for the Soul People

If it's discovered one day that chicken soup isn't all that good for you, would that put the Chicken Soup For the Soul Franchise in jeopordy?

I mean, what if someone discovers that chicken soup is high in sodium? Would that make chicken soup good for the soul but bad for your blood pressure? And if chicken soup is no long the measuring stick of what's good for you, would people begin demanding refunds on all those Chicken Soup for the Soul books?

Maybe the Chicken Soup For the Soul people need to branch out and diversify. Perhaps they could try one of the following:

1. Dark Chocolate for the Soul
2. One Glass of Red Wine a Day for the Soul
3. Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables for the Soul
4. Purified Water for the Soul
5. Broccoli for the Soul
6. Wild Salmon for the Soul

or if they want to keep the specifically targeted for a specific audience they could try:

- An Apple a Day for the Doctor's Soul

Feel free to post suggestions for others. I'd love to pass on your ideas to the publisher too.

Power of Words

I noticed that a few days after writing a thought about toll booths on free ways, that the tolls on the only toll highway in British Columbia were removed.

It seems to me that the Premier of BC must be a loyal reader.

I'm glad to know that the keyboard, like the pen, is mightier than the sword.

free ways

How is it that a free way can have a toll booth? There’s nothing free about a $10 toll.

Heavy Thoughts

Would heavy thoughts weigh the same on the moon as they do here?

No Money

How do bankruptcy lawyers get paid? I mean, isn’t the whole reason you’d see one is because you have no money? So, who pays them? Or do they charge it to your credit card like everyone else?

Awesome

Why is awesome a good thing, while aweful is not? You'd think that being full of awe would be better than just having some.

Bad Influences

There are so many influeces out there. Some are good, and some are bad. Most, I think, are bad. There are bad influences everywhere. At times it seems no one, or nothing, is safe. The only place I'm safe is with myself.

But, is it possible to be a bad influence on yourself?
